Men and women equally suffer from hair loss problems the reason behind this is either due to the health condition of the individual or due to the surrounding environment. 

Naturally one may lose around 70 hair strands per day but anything exceeding that is considered a hair loss problem. You may notice abnormal hair loss condition from the amount of hair you find on your pillow or on your hair brush. If you suffer from a hair loss syndrome you need to seek a medical advice, but before you do so you need to learn the cause for your hair loss and attempt to treat it with suitable cosmetics prior to visiting your doctor. So what are the reasons behind hair loss?

 Hair loss causes:

  • The health condition of a person affects the entire body and hair is not exempted. So going through a health crisis or illness for a certain period such as fever, pregnancy or even following a strict diet can exhaust the body and harm its organs including hair follicles which gets too weak and cause significant hair loss.
  • Alopecia Areata is a severe hair loss affects certain localised areas of hair bearing skin such as the scalp. The cause of Alopecia could be abnormality in the immune system that damages hair follicle. This could be caused by a psychological shock or other psychological factors.
  • Weather changes or moving from season to another is considered to be one of the reasons behind hair loss and it has greater effect on women than men.
  • Wrong styling practices such as tightening the hair tightly or exposing it to heat or using harsh cosmetics that damage the hair follicles and cause it to fall.
  • Dandruff is one of the main reasons for hair loss. Dandruff is a condition of the scalp that causes flakes of skin to appear and it is not related to poor hygiene. However, frequent hair wash with special shampoo for dandruff can help in limiting its appearance. Dandruff usually accompanied with itchiness, thus, when the affected person itch the scalp leading hair to fall.
  • Using too much of hair dyes is one of the main reasons for hair loss as they usually contain harsh chemicals that affect the hair follicles and exhaust the hair in general.

Hair loss treatment:

  • In the case of dandruff use special shampoo for dandruff, and/or apply olive oil mixed with fresh lemon juice to the scalp.
  • For Alopecia, make sure that you have perfect psychological health first then follow the appropriate Alopecia treatment under medical supervision. In addition, one of the traditional medicine treatments that was found effective is to slightly scratch the surface of the affected skin and to rub it with fresh garlic and ginger. Garlic works as a natural antibiotic and ginger increase the blood circulation leading to hair regrowth.
  • Avoid tight and harming hair styles and make simple and comfortable hair styles.
  • Do not go out after having a shower while your hair still wet.
  • Avoid using the hair dryer, or at least try to reduce the number of times you use it as well as the duration of each session.
  • Refrain from using hair dyes as much as you can and replace them with the natural henna hair dye which has treatment effect and make your hair appear healthy and shiny.
  • Take vitamins and food supplements that are beneficial for the health of the hair.
  • Consult hair expert to identify the reasons behind your hair loss and follow the appropriate treatment according to your hair condition and the expert recommendation.

Keeping your hair healthy is of high importance issue because hair is very sensitive and can easily be affected by the surrounding environment and need regular special care to be protected, any little care can help to make your hair look healthier and prettier.
